Our Goals

How does Conscious Capitalism Florida fulfill our mission?

Create high quality jobs across all industries

Conscious businesses outperformed the market by a factor of 10.5 over a fifteen-year period from 1996 to 2011. In Firms of Endearment: How World-Class Companies Profit from Passion and Purpose, Raj Sisodia and coauthors selected 18 public and 10 private companies on the basis of their humanistic profiles and not their financial performance. The degree to which these companies could be considered “conscious” varies, but it is clear that they’re all pretty far along on that dimension.

Improve the sustainability of our economy

Investors and customers are actively seeking out companies that make an impact, focus on higher purpose, and strive to increase sustainability. We believe businesses with sustainable practices are more innovative and better positioned for superior performance over the long-term.

Reduce the need for government regulation

Companies and industries that hold themselves to the highest standards of ethical treatment of all stakeholders will require less regulation and oversight from government. Capitalism must be ethical because it is based on voluntary exchange whereas government regulation oftentimes leads to crony capitalism and artificially sustained monopolies.

Reduce the financial strain on our non-profit sector

Business is noble because it can elevate our existence and it is heroic because it lifts people out of poverty and creates prosperity. Free enterprise capitalism is the most powerful system for social cooperation and human progress ever conceived. It is one of the most compelling ideas we humans have ever had. Conscious Capitalism can tackle complex social challenges with innovative solutions and more creative business models than the non-profit sector alone.
