President’s Message

In our first year I am proud to report that Conscious Capitalism Florida has reached thousands of people with our message that business is a force for good. We have spoken to college students at USF, the University of Tampa and Rollins College as well as business groups and leaders throughout the state.

As you will read below we are actively seeking out and promoting examples of Conscious Capitalism practitioners in Florida and raising awareness of the movement’s continued growth.We are also excited to report that legislation allowing the creation of Benefit Corporations in Florida has been filed in both the state House and Senate and that we will be watching as it moves through the upcoming legislative session.

Columbia Receives “Fresh From Florida Century Of Excellence” Award

Conscious Capitalism Florida would like to congratulate Florida’s Oldest Restaurant and it’s CEO, a shining example of a Conscious Capitalism practitioner, Richard Gonzmart for receiving the “Fresh From Florida Century of Excellence” Award.

In January Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putnam presented the “Fresh From Florida Century of Excellence” Award to Gonzmart, a fourth generation family member operating the legendary Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City. Continue Reading

“Nature Becomes You” is more than just a marketing tagline for Burt’s Bees. The Durham, N.C.-based manufacturer of natural personal-care products - best known for its popular lip balm - sees sustainability as the starting point for its innovation process.
